THE HEALTH AND SAFETY EXECUTIVE'S STANDARD, HS(G)65 or

THE BSI's STANDARD, OHSAS18001 

Each of these standards can be presented as a stand alone procedure.  Firms who apply HS(G)65 will normally comply with the law.  The BSI's standard, OHSAS18001 can also be seamlessly integrated with the ISO9001, quality and ISO14001, environmental management standards using the "process" approach.

This programme of work is designed to take you from your current situation through to assessment and registration comprising:

•           provision of all necessary documentation for the application of the chosen standard;

•           provision of hands‑on advice on system implementation and management; 

•           assistance with the implementation of any new and revised work practices;

•           the training of Occupation Health and Safety staff in Risk Assessment, COSHH, and system management; and 

•           a preliminary system audit.

As part of this package we also offer at no additional charge:

•           provision of a pertinent Employee Handbook; and

•           provision of a specimen Contract of Employment.

Training will be linked with training for hazard analysis and the monitoring of critical points and

designed to meet the specific needs of the business.

This consultancy would be planned to take place at the company and consultancy over a period of

c.12 weeks.  Visits will be arranged to accommodate availability of staff and work.  Each visit is

occupied with fact finding, presenting and discussing the prepared draft procedures, presenting the

manuals providing system management and auditor training in accordance with the schedule of

work.

The work will be undertaken by Arthur Lewis-Dale.  All of the Manual preparation, typing and

printing will be carried out at our offices and is included in the fee cost; for your future

convenience we will provide the documented system on disk.

Budget cost and terms of payment for a typical single site SME with c.50 employees

Payment for our services can be by ten monthly payments made by Standing Order of £333.33 (net

£200.00) assuming that the firm receives c.40% support from local Business Link or Council; our

costs are inclusive of expenses and exclude VAT.

We will represent in our client's best interest to ensure a reasonable assessment fee for firms who

opt to integrated the BSI's standard, OHSAS18001 and/or ISO9001:2000 or ISO14001:2004.
